Our Schultz send off salute and wilkommen in Wien could not have been nicer. Katarina greeted us in Vienna with curb side service from the airport to our apartment, and bags filled with groceries. Katharina was our guardian angel upon arrival.
Welcome to our blog! Grüß Gott is a traditional Austrian greeting, literally translated as "God's Greeting." In our experience, Grüß Gott is said by nearly every person you meet in Vienna and environs, regardless of age, sex, occupation, or even culture or religious affiliation.
Our dear neighbor, Jerry, offered wise parting words as he wished us a "satisfying sojourn." We've reflected on his eloquent send-off frequently the past two weeks. We certainly plan to satisfy every sense as we experience all Vienna has to offer.
So welcome to a glimpse of our Austrian Sojourn; we invite you to check in every few weeks to read about our journeys. Aufwiederschauen!
